Game Changers
To all friends, players, parents, and family,
On Wednesday, December 18, 2019 I retired as the Fairport Varsity Soccer Coach. It has been a great 25 years. Thank you to all the players I've had the privilege to coach. When I started in 1995 I never thought I would be here today, 25 years later thinking back and fondly remembering all the good times. Nothing gave me more joy than to watch all of you play and work hard for the jersey. I have incredible memories of every season, from first to last they were all special! Thank you to all the families who have supported me, many who I still consider friends. Being the head coach of this program has been the time of my life, it has defined me personally and professionally. I am proud of what we have all accomplished here in Fairport. The success this program has achieved has been incredible and we did it all together. Thank you to all who have served selflessly as Booster Club member, you all made my job easier. Thank you to my staff over the years, I appreciate the support and I know, except for one you all always had my back. Thank you to program coaches: Jim McAlpin, Ryan Olinksi, Steve King, and Bill Teasdale. To my assistant coaches thank you for making me look good, I know that was not an easy job: Jeff Vennell, Mike Torrelli, Bill Teasdale, Jeff Oliver, Mike McMahon, Louis Guilfoil, Guido Cristofori, and Mark Fish. It has been an honor to share the sideline with all of you. A very special thank you to Tony Exton for his work videotaping all our games and of course to my friend Herb Graham for being a big part of the ride and his inspirational bus speeches. Thank you to Don Santini for hiring me in 1995 and believing in me. Jim Zumbo, thank you for your guidance, mentorship and patience as the AD for most of my career. To the best principals in America: Dave Paddock and Bob Clark I grealty appreciate your support. To my children who always helped me keep perspetive, Maria, Alex, Gabby, and Sammy thank you for the support and love. Lastly to the two women in my life who stood by me and gave me the strength to endure the difficult times and shared in the good times. Tracy Bussani (1963-2003) I will always have place for you in my heart. To my wife Rose Bussani, you are the light of my life and my best friend. No one knows me like you do, thank you for standing by my side. You make me a stronger man.
